Dr. Mujeeb Ur Rahman is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, College of Pharmacy, Knowledge University, Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. Prior to joining Knowledge University, he held the leadership role of Professor and Principal at MESCO Institute of Pharmacy, Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, India, an institution affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow.
Dr. Rahman earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in 2006 and completed his Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2009 from Jamia Hamdard (Hamdard University), New Delhi, India. He subsequently obtained his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2014 from the same prestigious university.
With a strong record of scholarly productivity, Dr. Rahman has authored and co-authored numerous articles in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals and has actively contributed to national and international scientific symposia and scholarly forums in the domains of pharmaceutical and medical sciences. He has delivered research presentations at prominent conferences, including Healthcare India 2012 (New Delhi, India) and the 69th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (Chitkara University, Rajpura, India). Notably, he served as Organizing Chairman and Convener of the One-Day National Conference entitled “QSAR-Based Antiviral Agents Against SARS-CoV-2: An Overview”, held on 14 May 2022 at MESCO Institute of Pharmacy, Amroha.
Dr. Rahman’s research portfolio is centered on the rational design, synthesis, and physicochemical characterization of bioactive heterocyclic scaffolds, with particular emphasis on quinazoline, benzimidazole, and thiazole derivatives. His work is strategically aligned with the discovery of novel antihypertensive and anti-inflammatory therapeutic candidates, integrating contemporary medicinal chemistry approaches.
