The vision of the Department of Medical Microbiology is to develop scientists, lecturers, and highly qualified staff capable of dealing with infectious diseases caused by various microbiological causes (bacteria, viruses, parasites, or fungi) and epidemics through laboratory and clinical training. Those individuals will be able to fill positions in the community or institutions and help society. In addition, to enhance and expand existing technical, diagnostic, and patient support services. Initiate and participate in research projects that benefit the community, patients,  and clinicians, as well as develop partnerships/ agreements with national and international institutions and organizations.

The Department of Medical Microbiology's mission is to maintain a high standard of education and training and provide excellent diagnostic and support services to patients, the community, and clinical colleagues. Moreover, conduct research and collaborate with academic and research professionals in health-related faculties both nationally and internationally.

Examine the growth, structure, development, and other properties of tiny organisms like bacteria, algae, and fungi. Medical microbiologists are also concerned in the relation between organisms and disease, as well as the impact of medications on microorganisms.

Job Duties and Tasks for "Medical Microbiologist":

1) Isolate bacteria or other microorganisms and cultivate them in specific media while managing moisture, aeration, temperature, and nutrition.

2) Conduct tests on water, food, and the environment to identify hazardous microorganisms and learn more about pollution and contamination sources.

3-Supervise biological technicians and their work to ensure that their results are accurate.

4-Isolate cultures of bacteria and other microorganisms for future research.

5-For future reference, classify microorganisms discovered in collected specimens.

6-Keep track of how microbes affect animals, plants, and the environment.
