The Role of the Media in Legal Cases in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq

Abstract
Abstract\r\n\r\nBecause of the importance of the role of the media and its integration into all spheres of social life, one of these spheres is the field of law and justice in society, where the media can play an important role in raising legal awareness Better security. However, today in Kurdistan society we see all forms of media (visual, audio and written), especially digital media, despite playing a positive role, but also plays a negative role, often instead of conveying news and information as it is and impartiality), crosses boundaries and interferes in legal and judicial proceedings and in cases before the courts, from all stages of preliminary and judicial investigation to settlement and issuance of decisions. Before the cases are settled, news and information are published about them, which is often preliminary and false information, but after the cases are settled in the courts, the issues are different. This is harmful to the status, independence and impartiality of the legal and judicial institutions and the rights and freedoms of individuals in the Kurdistan Region, and has caused problems and violations of laws and regulations and has had a negative impact on social security and peace. Therefore, in this study we wanted to present the reasons, and how to make the media play its role in the Kurdistan Region within the framework of the applicable laws of the Kurdistan Region.\r\n\r\nKeywords: Legal cases, media, rights and freedoms, media coverage, digital media.
