
High-Level Meeting of Nursing College Deans Held in the Kurdistan Region

A significant and high-level meeting took place today at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, gathering the deans of nursing colleges from both public and private universities across the Kurdistan Region. The meeting was held under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Hussein, Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department at the Ministry, and with the participation of prominent academic figures, including Asst. Prof. Sarhang Qadir Surchi, Dean of the College of Nursing at Knowledge University, and Dr. Hawkar, Program Development Director.
The agenda focused on strengthening nursing education and setting unified academic and quality standards to ensure the readiness and professional competence of nursing graduates across the region. Participants discussed curriculum development, practical training enhancement, and inter-institutional collaboration. The Ministry emphasized the critical role of nursing education in the region's healthcare system and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting colleges through academic coordination and quality improvements.
The meeting concluded with the formation of a working group tasked with drafting recommendations and action plans for advancing nursing programs in line with international standards.
