College of Science Students Offer Free Health Tests in Celebration of World Earth Day
Erbil, Kurdistan Region
In celebration of World Earth Day, students from the Department of Medical Microbiology at the College of Science took part in a meaningful community initiative aimed at promoting both environmental and public health awareness. Under the guidance and supervision of Lab Assistant Zainab Ghanim, the students conducted a series of free health tests for citizens and participants of the Earth Day marathon held at Sami Abdulrahman Park. The tests included basic health screenings, such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar levels, and general health consultations.
The initiative attracted a large number of attendees who were participating in the marathon or visiting the park to celebrate the global event. The effort not only highlighted the importance of individual health but also emphasized the role of young scientists in contributing to their community. The event stood as a powerful symbol of how environmental and health initiatives can go hand-in-hand, showcasing the dedication of the next generation of health professionals in creating a better and healthier future for all.
