Environmental Engineering Students Participates in Earth Day Thinking Marathon with Strong Environmental Message

In celebration of Earth Day, a large-scale environmental event titled the Earth Day Thinking Marathon was organized through the joint efforts of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Kurdistan Foundation, Climate KRD, and Hasar Organization. The event brought together passionate environmentalists, students, and professionals to highlight ongoing efforts and future plans aimed at protecting the environment.
Knowledge University's Department of Environmental and Petroleum Engineering took part in the event under the supervision of Dr. Khasro Kakil, a lecturer at the College of Engineering. The team actively participated in both the running competition and the subsequent environmental activities organized during the event.
Engineer Gashbin, President of Hasar Organization, addressed the participants and shared updates on major environmental projects. Notably, she highlighted the progress of the tree-planting campaign, announcing that out of the planned one million trees, 600,000 have already been successfully planted—a significant step toward combating deforestation and climate change in the region. Following these informative sessions, the Knowledge University team engaged in in-depth discussions with engineers from participating organizations and toured an environmental exhibition showcasing diverse initiatives dedicated to environmental protection and sustainability.

به‌مه‌به‌ستی یادكردنه‌وه‌ی ڕۆژی زەوی، بەهەوڵی هاوبەشی حکومەتی هەرێمی کوردستان، دامەزراوەی کوردستان، پۆرتاڵی كلیمه‌یت KRD، و ڕێکخراوی هەسار، چالاکییەکی بەرفراوانی ژینگەیی بەناونیشانی ماراسۆنی بیرکردنەوەی ڕۆژی زەوی ڕێکخرا. ئەم چالاکییە ژینگەپارێزان، فێرخوازان و پیشەگەرەکانی کۆکردەوە بۆ تیشک خستنە سەر هەوڵە بەردەوامەکان و پلانەکانی داهاتوو کە ئامانجیان پاراستنی ژینگەیە. بەشی ئەندازیاری ژینگە و نەوت لە زانکۆی نۆلج بە سەرپەرشتی دکتۆر خەسرۆ کاکل مامۆستا لە کۆلێژی ئەندازیاری زانكۆی نۆڵج بەشداری لە چالاکییەکەدا کرد. تیمەکە چالاکانە بەشدارییان کرد لە هەردوو پێشبڕکێی ڕاکردن و چالاکییە ژینگەییەکانی دواتر کە لە کاتی چالاکییەکەدا ڕێکخرابوون.
ئەندازیار گەشبین سەرۆکی ڕێکخراوی هەسار قسەی بۆ بەشداربووان کرد و نوێکارییەکانی لەبارەی پڕۆژە گەورەکانی ژینگەپارێزییەوە بڵاوکردەوە. جێی ئاماژەیە، ئەو تیشکی خستە سەر پێشکەوتنی هەڵمەتی چاندنی دار، ڕایگەیاند کە لە کۆی یەک ملیۆن دار کە پلانی بۆ دانراوە، ٦٠٠ هەزار دار پێشتر بە سەرکەوتوویی چێنراون- هەنگاوێکی بەرچاو بەرەو بەرەنگاربوونەوەی دارستانبڕین و گۆڕانی کەشوهەوا لە ناوچەکەدا.
