Knowledge University Proffessor Conducts Specialized Training on Brucella Isolation Techniques

Professor Dhary Alewy Almashhadany, an academic from the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at the College of Science, Knowledge University, led a specialized training course titled “Steps for Isolating Brucella from Milk and Dairy Products” at the Directorate of Central Veterinary Laboratory. The training took place on April 10 and was attended by a number of professionals and experts from the center. The course focused on the critical steps and laboratory techniques required for the accurate isolation of Brucella, a genus of bacteria responsible for brucellosis – a zoonotic infection that poses serious health risks to both humans and animals.

Professor Almashhadany emphasized the importance of applying rigorous scientific protocols in detecting Brucella in dairy products, especially considering its implications for public health and food safety. The interactive session included hands-on demonstrations and discussions on best practices in sample collection, culture procedures, and identification methods. The Directorate of Central Veterinary Laboratory praised the initiative, noting the relevance of such trainings in enhancing laboratory diagnostics and supporting national efforts to monitor and control zoonotic diseases.

This event marks another contribution by Professor Almashhadany in bridging academic knowledge with practical applications in veterinary and public health laboratories.
