College of Law Hosts Workshop on Kurdistan Regional Parliament Elections

the College of Law at Knowledge University held an insightful internal workshop focused on the legal aspects of elections for the Kurdistan Regional Parliament. The workshop addressed several critical topics, including the decision to reduce the number of parliamentary members to 100, the rights and duties of candidates, the conditions of candidacy and self-nomination, and the rights of voters. Additionally, the workshop explained how votes are counted and seats are distributed according to the number of votes received across constituencies.

The workshop featured presentations from distinguished lecturers, Mr. Hamad Karim, Ms. Hind Abdulamir, and Ms. Halala Sulaiman Rahman, who guided attendees through the complex legal framework governing elections. They provided valuable insights into the criteria necessary for becoming a candidate, the rights of voters, and the intricate process of determining election outcomes.
