ICACS24: 2nd International Conference of Applied Computing & Smart Cities

First Day:

Under the supervision of Dashti Haji Najmaddin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Anwar Dzeyi, President of Knowledge University, the 2nd International Conference of Applied Computing & Smart Cities (ICACS24) commenced today. The event, organized by the College of Engineering and the College of Science, saw a significant turnout of guests, including IT and computer engineering experts. The conference began with the Kurdistan and Iraqi national anthems followed by a moment of silence to honor the martyrs. Dr. Ahmad Anwar Dzeyi delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of the conference in fostering innovation and collaboration in applied computing and smart city development. Then,Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zhalla Saeid Khatat, General Director of Research & Development in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Representative of the Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, delivered a speech.

Keynote speakers at the event included Dr. Ano Jawhar, Minister of Transportation; Kuang Liangyin, Account Manager of Huawei Erbil Office; Ahmed Jamil, CTO of Huawei in Erbil; Dr. Hussein N. Fadhil; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halgurd Sarhang Maghdid. These distinguished speakers, along with other experts, presented several respected and scientific papers that will be discussed over the two-day conference. The ICACS24 aims to provide a platform for academic and industry professionals to share insights, research findings, and technological advancements, contributing to the growth and development of smart cities in the region.
