College of Law Hosts Workshop on Religious and National Coexistence in Kurdistan

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, the College of Law at Knowledge University organized an internal workshop entitled “Positive Aspects and Challenges Facing Religious and National Coexistence in Kurdistan.” The workshop was held in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Dzayi, President of Knowledge University, and Aydin Maarouf, Kurdistan Regional Government Minister for Components Affairs.

The event brought together a number of prominent religious figures representing different faiths in Kurdistan, including Dr. Mulla Abdullah Waisi, Head of the Kurdistan Islamic Scholars Union; Father Zaya Shaba Jaji, a Christian religious figure; and Mirhaj Hassan Zainal, a representative of the Yazidi community.

Throughout several themes and panel discussions, participants addressed a range of important issues related to religious and national coexistence, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges facing social harmony in the Kurdistan Region.
