Message from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Beginning of the New Academic Year

Respected President and Vice President of the University,
Respected Deans, Heads of Departments, esteemed faculty members, employees, and dear administrative staff,

It is my great pleasure, on behalf of myself and the members of the Board of Trustees of Knowledge University, to warmly welcome you all.

The beginning of a new academic year is not merely the start of new classes and academic programs; rather, it is a new opportunity to review our work, strengthen our achievements, and address our shortcomings. Today’s meeting is not only about beginning a new academic year, but also about laying the foundation for a new stage in the development and advancement of our university.

Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, our university is distinguished across the Kurdistan Region and the wider area in terms of its buildings, halls, laboratories, green spaces, parking facilities, and campus area. However, our primary goal is to develop our university into a strong academic and scientific institution that establishes a prominent position at the local, regional, and international levels. Therefore, let us make this year a year of work, dedication, innovation, and achievement.

Dear Colleagues,

I hope that we begin this academic year with enthusiasm, energy, and a strong academic plan. Our aim should be to raise the scientific, academic, and intellectual standards of our students beyond those of previous years. We should warmly welcome our dear students, encourage them, and actively contribute to raising the academic standing of our university.

This can be achieved by continuously updating academic programs across all fields and stages of study, conducting high-quality scientific research with strong impact factors that contributes positively to the university’s rankings, organizing seminars, workshops, and scientific conferences, and encouraging every department to contribute according to its area of specialization.

One of our important responsibilities this year should also be to ensure the direct participation of students in academic, scientific, and cultural activities and to make students the central focus of the teaching and learning process.

Let us make this academic year one that reflects the requirements of modern higher education, particularly through the effective use of artificial intelligence across different fields and academic subjects, enabling our students to progress alongside their peers around the world.

An advanced university cannot remain distant from technology. Digital systems, e-learning, and artificial intelligence must be systematically integrated into education, administration, and scientific research.

Ultimately, all our plans and decisions must serve the interests of our students. Students should not graduate from university with a degree alone; they should also acquire skills, practical experience, scientific and innovative thinking, and professional competencies that prepare them effectively for the labor market and their future careers.

I am also pleased to announce that Yaqoub Holding Group has welcomed a new university into its group of higher education institutions: Bayan University.

Bayan University has joined Yaqoub Holding Group with a new vision and approach. I encourage all of us to cooperate with and support the academic and administrative staff of Bayan University in their efforts to enhance its scientific and academic standards.

Bayan University consists of nine departments and operates under the trusteeship and leadership of Dr. Renas Yaqoub, as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bayan University.

In conclusion, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the President and Vice President of the University, the deans, heads of departments, faculty members, employees, and administrative staff, all of whom have played an important role in the achievements and successes of our university.

Once again, I congratulate you on the beginning of the new academic year. Through you, I also extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to all our students. I hope that the 2026–2027 academic year will be a productive, successful, and rewarding year for everyone.
