Kurdology Manuscripts in the Ottoman Archives

On Wednesday (5/10/2022) at (10) am, in the KNU conference hall, Department of Computer in Knowledge University in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Youth of the Kurdistan Regional Government held an international workshop entitled:

Kurdology Manuscripts in the Ottoman Archives

The following topics were presented:

The workshop was opened by the organizer of the workshop, Mr. Rabeea Ismail Khalid, lecturer of Kurdology at Knowledge University, Then Dr. Kaihan Zrar Ghafoor, President of Knowledge University, welcomed the guests from the Ministry of Culture and Youth of the Kurdistan Region, Then the following topics were presented:

First topic:
A brief presentation has been given regarding the importance of collecting Kurdology manuscripts to preserve Kurdistan's culture and history by the lecturer (Rabi Ismail Khalid) the lecturer of Kurdology at Knowledge University.

The second topic by L / Hamad Kareem Hamad - Lecturer in Law Department - Knowledge University. 
He discussed the importance of the workshop and the importance of collecting manuscripts written about Kurds in the Ottoman archives and other countries.

The third topic by Mr. Dr. Salar Osman, Deputy Minister of Culture and Youth of the Kurdistan Region.

He discussed the latest efforts according to the new law issued in the Kurdistan Parliament No. (1) of (2022) called the law of protection of national documents and the efforts of the Ministry to establish a center for collecting manuscripts written about Kurds .

The fourth topic by Dr. Osman Aslan Oglu, Head of Kurdology Department, Tigris University, Turkey.

He discussed the manuscripts, books and sources written about Kurds that are currently available in libraries and archival institutions or in libraries and cultural centers or by writers, researchers, political and cultural figures in Turkey.

Finally, the logo and gifts of Knowledge University were presented to the participating guests.
