Energy Efficiency Upgrade Plan – Knowledge University (2024) | Knowledge University Campus

Knowledge University will progressively upgrade all existing campus buildings to higher energy-efficiency standards. This plan supports SDG-7 and aims to reduce total energy consumption and operational carbon emissions.

Planned upgrade focus areas include:

• Replacement of old lighting systems with LED / smart-controlled lighting
• Improving thermal insulation levels in walls, windows and roofs
• Upgrading to high-efficiency HVAC units and cooling systems
• Integration of renewable energy solutions (solar) wherever feasible
• Improving building energy monitoring and metering systems
• Replacing outdated equipment with low-energy alternatives

Implementation will occur in phases between 2024–2030 based on a priority schedule (high-consumption buildings first).
The Facilities & Engineering Unit will oversee planning, budgeting and monitoring of efficiency improvements.

This plan is part of KNU’s Climate Action commitment and is aligned with our target to become carbon-neutral (Scope 1 & 2) by 2040.
