Factors of the decline in the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar. Challenges and solutions

A workshop was held by the department of Accounting on the Factors of the decline in the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar. Challenges and solutions Workshop on December 22, 2020. The workshop was three part. At the beginning of the workshop, Mr. Saif Qudama, lecturer at accounting department, Knowledge University and the organizer of the workshop gave a brief background on the topic and explained the concept of the development. Then Prof. Dr. Khalid Adul Hameed from accounting department, Knowledge University discussed the Types of exchange rates, exchange rate theories, reasons for the decline in the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar and its future effects. finally, Mr. Amar Waleed from accounting department, Knowledge University discussed the existing problem in many countries and solutions of those kinds of problems. He believed that with good plan we can avoid those can of problems and may we have a good solution of it. At the end of the workshop, participants asked questions and discussed the topic with presenters.

Outcomes of the Workshop:
1. Knowing all kinds of exchange rates and which one is the best.
2. The decline in the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar was not the solution to the financial crisis, but rather it was a problem in itself.
3. There are no guarantees that the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar will not be decline again.
4. There were better ways to solve the financial problem in Iraq than to reduce the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar.
5. The proposed solutions were through diversifying the sources of income in the Iraqi economy and re-looking at bad licensing rounds and its resources.
