International Workshop: The Role of Petroleum Engineering in Energy Transition

On Monday, November 13, 2025, Knowledge University, in coordination with Politechnical University of Chik and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), organized an international workshop titled "The Role of Petroleum Engineering in Energy Transition." The event was prepared under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Dzeii (University President) and Dr. Renas Yaqub Najmaddin (Member of the Security Council) with the participation of the Head of Erbil Governorate Council, several Kurdish and Iraqi parliamentarians, representatives from the Ministries of Natural Resources and Electricity, oil company executives in Kurdistan, and numerous domestic and international guests.

The workshop highlighted the importance and role of petroleum engineers in energy transition. It included multiple seminars and a special panel presented by distinguished experts, including Prof. Dr. Govend Sherwani, Dr. Hiwa Sadiq, Prof. Dr. Ondre Babek, Mr. Saad Youssef, and Dr. Shara Kemal.
