Environmental Engineering Department Hosts a Workshop on Climate Change Challenges

On Monday, January 19, 2026, the Department of Environmental Engineering at Knowledge University organized an internal workshop entitled “Environmental Requirements and the Challenges of Climate Change in the Upcoming Phase,” in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Dzayi, President of Knowledge University.
The workshop was attended by a number of specialists and experts from the Kurdistan Region, including Dr. Sanaan Abdullah, Spokesperson of the Environment Board; Mr. Darya Rostam, Head of Exon Research and Development Center; Dr. Hersh Shkak, Head of the Laboratory Department at the Environment Board; Mr. Parwar Ghalib, Head of the Environmental Impact Assessment Department at the Environment Board; Asst. Prof. Dr. Siraj Mohammed, Water Resources Specialist; Prof. Dr. Ali Surdashi, Geology Specialist; and Mr. Dilshad Hirani, Director of the Erbil Environmental Directorate.
During the event, a series of seminars and panel discussions were presented to the participants, highlighting key data and environmental indicators from 2025, along with the latest findings of ongoing research related to climate change and environmental sustainability.
