Augmentation of performance of system with dispersion of nanoparticles inside PCM
Abstract
In this attempt, melting of PCM due to hot air from ambient within sunny day has been scrutinized. To bring the opportunity for PCM to observe more heat from hot air flow, nanoparticles was dispersed in to RT28. To augment the effective surface the duct was fabricated with sinusoidal walls. Outputs demonstrate the liquid fraction and heat flux as well as temperature distribution. At t = 40 h and a = 5, Liquid fraction reaches to 0.9 and such values increase to 0.97 if a augments to 10 mm. When a = 10, liquid fraction at t = 40 h, 5.91 times greater than that of t = 5 h. Q profile for both cases reduced with augment of time but different behavior was reported for effect of amplitude. Greater values of a, provides higher Q when t < 31 h but opposite relation can be observed for t > 31 h. Heat flux augments about 2.9% with augment of amplitude of wavy wall.
