The objective of this Workshop:
Gas flaring is one of the most challenging energy and environmental problems facing the world today.
Gas flaring, the process of burning-off associated gas from wells, hydrocarbon processing plants, or refineries, either as a means of disposal or as a safety measure to relieve pressure, about 150 billion m3 of natural gas is flared around the world. Iraq was the world's second-worst gas flaring nation after Russia in 2020, according to the World Bank. The world bank estimates around 17.374 billion m3 of gas from the Iraqi field was flared in 2020.
The goal of this workshop is to highlight the gas flaring system by discussing the principles of gas flaring, Application, Design, Operation, and emissions monitoring.
