Dr. Nashwan A. Othman is a Lecturer in the Computer Engineering Department at KNU. He joined KNU in 2019. Prior to that, he lectured at Duhok Polytechnic University - Duhok. He received his BSc degree in Computer Science from Salahaddin University in 2013, his MSc in Computer Engineering from Firat University, and his PhD in the same department and university in 2023. During his master's studies, he invented a system for detecting and recognizing faces in the Internet of Things for security applications. Furthermore, during his PhD thesis, Dr. Nashwan A. Othman focused on AI-powered UAV applications, specifically working on human action detection and recognition from captured frames. His areas of teaching expertise include Computer Programming, Logic Design, Computer Skills, Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis, Web Programming, Network Routing, and Mobile Applications.
