Abstract Challenges and technological developments have forced management to change work methods and procedures by developing internal administrative organizations to adapt to changes in the external environment and to create conditions for better performance. As part of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems, banks have a role to play in bringing creativity, excellence, and thinking to organizational suc- cess. The sample of this study were employees from government and private banks in Erbil City, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. 88 bank staffs from six banks in Erbil city were surveyed during February-March, 2024. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, Kruskal-Walis Test and Mann-Whitney U methods were used to ana- lyze data. Making their job easy, helping in effective decision-making and decreas- ing personal judgement during decision making through reliable, accurate and on time data are expectations from MIS in the banks. They need more modern equip- ment and better databases supporting creative ideas and innovations and expected to have higher authorization for higher work engagement. Quality of information having high positive correlation with all factors is the main factor of decision mak- ing and effectiveness. More effective usages supported with developed technolog- ical equipment are preferred by bank staffs. Bikhal bank’s staffs, males and expe- rienced staffs are significantly more satisfied with totally agree means for uses pro- vided by MIS.
