Overview

Bachelor of Accounting is a 240-credit (ECTS) program helps students to enhance fundamental skills that are important to evaluate, analyze and communicate the financial position of an organization or individual. The course is designed to prepare individuals in the core areas of financial accounting, intermediate accounting, advanced cost accounting, managerial accounting, tax and auditing, in addition to public finance, principles of management and economics and commercial law. 

The bachelor of accounting equips students with skills and knowledge about the financial statement and financial analysis. The possibility of a student’s placement with a degree in accounting is very high at the local and international markets. Wherever the students go and whatever industry you would like to work, the bachelor degree in accounting can take you there. This program is designed with a balanced approach that upgrades students accounting skills to join accountancy skills with a strong academic and professional background in different aspects of accounting. To apply, students should have a high school average of 65 or above.

  • To comprehend accounting concepts such as cost flows, product costing, variance analysis, budget process, decision making performance analysis, and responsibility accounting.
  • To apply critical-thinking, decision-making, and analytical problem-solving skills in an accounting field.

Skills Development

Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to:

  • Prepare financial statements following appropriate standards.    
  • Preparing accounting information for planning and control and the evaluation of products, projects and divisions.
  • Use different accounting software packages that help accountants to perform their tasks in modern business organizations. 
  • Prepare business and individual tax returns following regulations of the KRG and Central Government. 
  • Analyzing financial transaction data and tax authorities for purposes of tax planning.
  • Apply appropriate auditing standards to evaluate the conformity of financial statements.

Admission Criteria

High school certificate or 5 years’ diploma certificate, and have obtained a high school average score of 55% or above.
